This custom tool is designed for use on spectrum windows. When applied, it automatically creates a set of five new instrument windows that measure the amplitude at the dominant spectral peak and at its first four harmonics:


  • Max. amplitude
  • 2x harmonic amplitude
  • 3x harmonic amplitude
  • 4x harmonic amplitude
  • 5x harmonic amplitude


based on existing instrument functions.


Each resulting instrument behaves like standard SIGVIEW instruments and updates continuously whenever the source spectrum changes.


It is especially useful in vibration and rotating-machinery analysis, where harmonic growth often indicates imbalance, misalignment, or mechanical wear. By generating dedicated instrument windows for each harmonic, the tool enables easy monitoring, comparison, and trend tracking of harmonic content. It is also well suited for feature extraction in automated analysis or machine-learning workflows, where harmonic amplitudes serve as strong diagnostic features.
