Signal annotations allow you to label important points in a signal or analysis result. Each annotation appears as a marker with a user-defined text label pointing to a specific location on the signal.

Creating Annotations

To create an annotation, move the signal cursor to the desired position, right-click, and choose Set annotation here… from the context menu. A dialog will appear where you can enter annotation text of up to 32 characters.

Annotations are saved automatically within the workspace file (SWS) and are restored when the workspace is reloaded.

This makes them useful for documenting observations or sharing analysis results with others while preserving your comments.

Editing and Deleting Annotations

You can modify or remove existing annotations through the same context menu. To do so, right-click directly inside the annotation’s text rectangle to open its menu and choose the desired option.

If you wish to remove all annotations currently visible in the window, select Delete visible annotations from the context menu.

Additional Notes

Annotations (markers) automatically created by other functions (for example, Peak Detection) cannot be manually edited or deleted.

The display of annotations in any window can be toggled on or off using the Display annotations option from the context menu.
