Using instruments with 3D Graphics
In SIGVIEW, selected instrument functions can now also be applied directly to 3D graphics and spectrogram windows. These instruments operate in a similar way as with standard signal windows, but instead of processing a one-dimensional signal, they evaluate all values contained in the 3D dataset.
The following instruments are available for 3D graphics:
•Mean
•Standard deviation
•Variance
•Maximum (with marker)
•Minimum (with marker)
•Maximum position (with marker)
•Minimum position (with marker)
For value-based instruments (Mean, Standard deviation, Variance, Maximum, Minimum), the calculation is performed over the entire set of values in the 3D graphic.
For position-based instruments (Maximum position and Minimum position), the result represents the position of the detected value along the X-axis (typically the time axis). A marker is displayed in the 3D view to indicate the corresponding location of the maximum or minimum.
As with signal-based instruments, all results are updated automatically when the underlying data changes.
